Ace Your Weight!
Welcome to ACEyourweight.com! I chose this name for my website because in my own journey to fat loss and fitness I have had to Acknowledge my own Compulsive over Eating!!!
Compulsive Over Eaters Can Lose Weight and Get Fit Too!
For those of us who know we are compulsive overeaters, losing weight and getting fit pose a greater challenge than for those who consider themselves “normal” eaters. We have that extra layer of psychological baggage to unpack: why do we eat to deal with our emotions? Why do we get out of control and eat mindlessly?
Even if we are physically active, we can be overweight because we just take in too many calories due to being out of control. This website is dedicated to the idea that compulsive over eaters and food addicts can get fit and strong in spite of our dysfunctional eating choices. Even though we struggle with an eating disorder we can stay active, keep exercising and reap all the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
Did you know that 8 million Americans have an eating disorder? And it is not always the one we hear most about: Anorexia. No, the most common eating disorder in America is Binge Eating Disorder. (BED) Binge eating is characterized by the following symptoms and behaviors:
- eating much more quickly than usual during binge episodes
- eating until uncomfortably full
- eating large amounts of food even when not really hungry
- eating alone because of embarrassment about the amount of food eaten
- feeling disgusted, depressed, or guilty after overeating.
Even though I have yet to recover from my own struggles with Binge Eating Disorder, I have benefited from many of the products and programs I am endorsing on this website, and I am on the way to a level of fitness and strength I never dreamed I would achieve. I have reduced my body fat percentage and developed lean muscle and you can do it too!
Aceyourweight.com is dedicated to the concept that even in the throes of struggling with eating disorder issues, compulsive overeaters can stay positive and active and keep reaching for constant improvement, NEVER GIVING UP on ourselves and our right to be happy and healthy.
I have gathered many excellent resources all in one place for you so that you don’t have to do it yourself. If you are like me, you have lost the weight may times only to regain it. You are smart, successful in most areas of your life and you know a lot about nutrition and exercise. You are no dummy! And yet, changing your overeating behaviors eludes you.
That is because life is really hard and unpredictable and lets face it, life is a roller coaster! Finding the strength and determination within ourselves to change is a difficult challenge that requires enormous amounts of emotional insight, motivation and persistence.
The key to changing our eating lifestyle is to have a STRATEGY.
To truly change our eating styles, our fitness level, and our overall health, we need STRUCTURE! We need a PROGRAM. In addition to addressing the emotional, psychological and physical aspects of our eating disorder issues with professionals such as psychotherapists, nutritionists and medical doctors, we can also adopt a work out and fitness regime that keeps us moving. The good news is that there are resources that can offer you this structure.
Check out the diet and fitness websites I consider high quality and get a program going that works for you. If there is any message I want most to convey to the suffering compulsive over eater it is this: No matter how out of control you are with food, KEEP MOVING!! Exercise will make you feel better, help mitigate the ill effects of over eating, contribute to better moods and give you self respect. When you are really ready for change, programs such as those suggested on this site can help take you to the next level on your journey to wholeness.
You are entering an information zone that will link you to many resources to help keep you determined, dedicated and focused on changing your eating behaviors so that you can not only achieve your fat loss and fitness goals, but also find peace of mind and peace with food.
All The Best!
